What to expect from "Halo Wars: A Strategy Guide"

For those of you who dont want to wait the 1-3 weeks for me to get my Xbox 360 back and make my Halo Wars Strategy Guide video, I will post all the details of how to "rush" here.

This guide is how to rush the other side as both UNSC and Covenant. Always rush BEFORE 9 minutes, I always try to rush at 8 minutes. Many a time have I rushed at 12 minutes only to find they have a HUGE army and I have been crushed. Also, DO NOT upgrade your units if you are going to rush, UNLESS you are going to Warthog rush. Upgrading units first takes too much time, and that is not what you want in rushing. Some people may say you dont get any points if you rush, but that is not true. You receive 2000 points for winning the game, on top of the points you receive for killing them, with the multiplier, and you are looking at a pretty good score.

Rushing as UNSC:

Captain Cutter: Captain Cutter is not always the best rusher, the only thing that he helps with is he saves you 400 supplies at the beginning of the game with a fully upgraded base. If you really want to rush with him, I recommend building either Scorpions or Hornets. If you are building Scorpions, upgrade to Canister Shell. If you are building Hornets upgrade to the Marines on the side seat. It also depends if you are doing 1v1, 2v2 or 3v3, and who the other side has for leaders. If they are all Covenant, do not even attempt to rush, just build up and hopefully you will win. At about 7 minutes 30 seconds into the game, send all of your units to the CLOSEST BASE. I say closest because you want reinforcements to be able to arrive quickly. CONTINUE TO BUILD WHILE YOU ARE RUSHING!!! If you don't you will find that his/her teammates (if any) send backup and quickly destroy you, or he/she will destroy you herself. Hopefully the other person will have been tricked into building anti-infantry, A.K.A. Flamethrowers or Jackals, and quickly you Canister Shell to wipe these out. If you have built Hornets, well, if you are building Hornets you should have no problem at all against these stupid units who can't attack you. If you are fighting a Covenant leader, make sure you have at least 450 supplies and a disruption bomb ready at your fingertips. I also recommend MAC Blasting to get rid of some of their units if they have any, or just to help with their base.

Sergeant Forge: I DO NOT recommend rushing with Sergeant Forge, he isn't very good. If you insist on rushing with him though, follow the above rules.

Professor Anders; Warthog Rushing: Warthog Rushing is the most effective way of rushing IN MY OPIONION. What you will do here is fully upgrade your Warthogs BEFORE you build them. I have found that this is the most effective way to do it. If you are playing on a map with extra reactors, DO NOT take these. By the time you have wasted valuable money and time building a reactor you could have already gotten the equivalent and probably even better without the extra reactor. OK, now the moment of truth, how to do this and what to build when and where and what! When you get into the game, immediately build 2 Supply Pads on any rectangle EXCEPT the one in the back. This will help your reactor(s) be protected better. After you have selected 2 Supply Pads to be built, build a Reactor and another Supply Pad at your base. Build the Reactor at the BACK. While you are doing all this send your Warthog out to find supplies. These supplies WILL make the difference between your rush working or not. They are invaluable. When you have enough supplies, build a fourth Supply Pad at your base, and upgrade your base to Fortress. When your FIRST Reactor is complete, upgrade your Warthogs to Gunner. When your base has been upgraded to Fortress, build a second and third Reactor, and when each respective Reactor is done upgrade your Warthogs to Grenadier and then Gauss Cannon. Right when you start the Gauss Cannon upgrade, self destruct ONE Reactor and build a Supply Pad there. While you are researching Gauss Cannon, build as many Warthogs at your base as possible. Lock your base so they don't know that you are Warthog rushing. While your Warthogs are building, ask a teammate to destroy a Rebel Base so you can take it. If you are playing 1v1 and you need to destroy a Rebel Base on your own, let 2 or 3 Warthogs come out of your base and then lock it again. 2-3 Warthogs with Gauss Cannon will be able to take a Rebel Base. You will have more supplies than you need, and likely you will be building 10+ Warthogs. Build a second base, and start building half your Warthogs there. Your second base can be used to build Spartans and upgrade technology, but it is doubtful that you will have time for any of that before your rush. At 7 minutes, unlock your base and move all your Warthogs to someplace around your base. Set your Global Rally Point there by double clicking the Left Stick. At 7 minutes 45 seconds, if you have 10+ Warthogs with Gauss Cannon, send all of your Warthogs to the nearest enemy base, and set your Global Rally Point out front of their base. With luck they wont have very many units (if any), and you should be able to destroy their base. Good luck soldier!

Covenant Rushing Guide coming tomorrow, don't have enough time tonight.
